Terms of use
Who we are and what this is
Memova (memova.top, the Android app and the Chrome extension) is a non-commercial service for learning words and for lessons with a teacher. It is run by ФОП Муравйов Віталій; write to support@memova.top or to the support chat in the app. By using the service you agree to these terms and to the privacy policy.
Account
- You create the account yourself: email and password, or sign-in with Google. One account is one person; you are responsible for what happens from it, so do not pass the password to others.
- The service is for people aged 13 and over. If you are under 18, use it with your parents' or guardians' knowledge — in particular before paying.
- The account can be deleted at any time in settings → «Delete account». Everything of yours can be taken out first as one file (settings → «My data»).
What is yours and what is ours
- Yours: words, translations, examples, pictures, materials, messages — everything you add stays yours. We use it only to make the service work for you: to show, to review, to keep in a backup.
- Ours: the service itself — the code, design, dictionaries, scenes, help texts and the library we gathered. They may be used within the service, but not copied or sold as your own.
- Responsibility for what you add: a material must be yours or one you have the right to share. Private materials are seen by you and your teacher only; public ones by everyone. If someone reports that a material infringes their rights, we take it down.
What is not allowed
- Harming other people in the service: insults, threats, spam, impersonation — in chats, on a teacher's card, in public materials.
- Breaking the service: getting around limits, guessing passwords, loading the server with scripts, reading other people's data, reselling access.
- Using the service for anything the law forbids — in particular spreading other people's works without the right to.
- For a violation we may warn, restrict or close the account. If you think it is a mistake, write to support and we will sort it out.
Teachers and students
- Memova gives a teacher and a student the tools — a schedule, a room for a video lesson, shared words and materials. The arrangement about lessons, their price and payment is between the teacher and the student; Memova takes no part in those payments and no commission.
- We do not verify teachers' qualifications and are not responsible for the content or quality of lessons. A teacher's public card is their own words about themselves.
- Video lessons go between browsers directly and are not recorded. What a teacher sees about a student (words, progress, notes) is described in the help; a student can end the pair at any time.
How the service works
- The service is provided «as is»: we build it honestly and carefully and keep backups, but do not promise it will run without interruptions or errors, and are not liable for losses from its downtime or data loss — not least because it is non-commercial.
- The free plan has limits (shown on the pricing page). The paid plans Plus and Pro are described in the public offer.
- We may change, add and remove features of the service. About significant changes that affect a paid plan we tell in advance by email or in the app.
Ending
- You may leave at any time: delete the account or simply stop using it. A paid period is not refunded then, except in the cases described in the offer.
- We may close an account for a violation of these terms, or close the service altogether — then we warn at least 30 days ahead so you can take your data out, and refund the unused part of a payment.
Changes to the terms
If the terms change, the new version appears here, with the date at the top. About significant changes we tell in the app. If you keep using the service after that, you agree to the new version.
Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of Ukraine. Any question we first try to settle by correspondence — support@memova.top or the support chat; failing that, a dispute is resolved by a court under the law of Ukraine.
Paying for Plus and Pro is covered by the public offer; data by the privacy policy.
